This weekend we are going to try and finish the wallpaper in Lani’s room if Matt’s job does not get in the way. He has a really good job but he is on call 24/7 so sometimes that can cut into family time but it is something we have to deal with because he really does like what he does. We do not have much more paper to put up so hopefully we will be able to get it done. Lani is still really sick so right now we are just trying to keep her comfortable and happy.

Finally it is Friday; I thought this day would never come. It seems like it has been such a long week. Running Michaela around everywhere and now Lani is sick with another ear infection, I need a vacation. This weekend I am going to try my best to realize but I don’t know if that will be possible. The family is coming for the holidays so we still have a lot to do to get everything ready for everyone. I am so excited, I can’t wait.

We love our home theater seating.  We had just a regular sofa before we got this one and I don’t see how we ever lived without it.  We have 4 seats on ours.  There are single seats at each end and a double in the middle, each with its own cup holder which is very nice.  One thing about theater seating I do not think people realize is that it does not need any clearance from the wall.  You can push it right up against the wall and they still recline.  The fact that it is leather is also nice because when someone spills something you just wipe it up.  With upholstered furniture the dust mites in there alone make me shiver.  You may think you need a basement or a separate room to convert into a theater to have this seating.  Not true we have ours in the living room and with the leather and the classic design it makes it an inviting space to be in.

Michaela had a party last night, she was Belle from Beauty and the Beast.  This little girl is working her but off.  Wednesday she worked at Firehouse, last night she had a party, tonight she works at Firehouse and Saturday she has a party.  She is trying to raise her funds for her car.  We are giving her a car but we told her that she has to pay the insurance.  I gave the car to my brother last year to use until Michaela could have it and let me tell you it has made the rounds.  My brother used it until he got a new truck then he gave it to my Mom.  Well last week or so the transmission went out and Mom fixed it.  She got a new truck and my brother’s truck broke so now it is back with my brother.  That little car has done a lot of people some good.  So I told Michaela she needed to have 2 months insurance saved up and she had to give her Grammy some money back for fixing the car.  I think that is only fair because now she basically has a new car for free.

I know Bloggerwave has had problems in the past but they have been resolved.  I joined Bloggerwave a while ago and I took 4 opps with them.  I have been paid for one but not the other three.  I have been trying to log into Bloggerwave to not only check for opps but to see if there is any issue with payment again but I have not been able to.  When I enter my username and password it gives me “user not found”.  Did they close up shop?  I am not worried about the payment at this point, don’t be me wrong I would love to get paid the $30 they owe me, I am more concerned about the fact that I can not log on anymore.I have sent emails but I have not received a response on any of them and even before when I was filling the opps if I emailed them I would not get a response.  Is there anyone else out there that is having this problem or is it just me?

Michaela starts her job at Firehouse today.  I was asking her what she wanted for Christmas last night and she said her car.  I told her that she would probably not be getting her car until after the first of the year.  I did say that maybe for Christmas I could buy her the floor mats and things for her car so when she did get it she would have all of the stuff for it.  I am just scared about her getting a car, that is like the final step in growing up and I don’t think I am ready for that.

Christmas shopping is getting closer at hand and what I hate to think about is the fact that most of the gifts we are going to give this year are going to be returned or end up in a drawer somewhere never to be seen again. What about giving a holiday gift this year that keeps giving?  Something that actually has meaning and a purpose behind it.  Purchase a holiday gift from the Alzheimer’s Foundation Store and not only will you get a high quality gift with meaning behind it but all of the proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. If you can not find a gift in the shop, think about giving a donation in that persons name to the foundation.  People to not give to charity in other people’s name because they may think the person they are giving for will think bad of them, but maybe they will be thankful for the chance you gave them to help someone.

I believe that Alzheimer’s is one of the most devastating diseases because not only does it take away the life of the sufferer but it takes the life of the caregiver. They give so much of themselves with little reward or no reward. It must be so heart breaking to give your body and soul to someone and they not even remember who you are. The only thing sufferers have left is their dignity and it is because of the caregivers’ selflessness that they are able to keep that when everything else in their life is fading so fast. Just think the joy you will get out of knowing that your hard earned money is also going to a wonderful cause.  Wouldn’t you rather spend your money there than at Wal-Mart.Please give a donation or make a purchase from the Alzheimer’s Foundation store this year, it is a gift that will be remembered.
