This is Matt and I at his holiday party last night.  I thought everyone would enjoy seeing a new picture of us.  I love my man so much.  Dinner was amazing, I had lamb and Matt had a t-bone.

Take a moment to scan this list of toys that were recalled in 2007 you may have missed a recall.  Lani had the teething ring so that was a little scary.  I thought I was up to date on the recalls but according to this list a couple of them slipped by me.

Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant and 16 years old.  I was so shocked although I guess I should not have been.  I know these girls where born and raised in Louisiana but come on what happened to trying to break the stereotypes?  I was raised in Louisiana too and when I graduated there were girls that were pregnant and girls that had already had babies but that was how many years ago?  According to Jamie Lynn the father is her “long time” boyfriend.  I have an issue with this too because I have a 17 year old and their idea of a long term boyfriend is making it to their 1 month anniversary. 

Where is the mother of these girls?  She has one child that is a walking disaster with two children she is losing custody of and now the other one is pregnant.  As far as Jamie Lynn’s TV show on Nickelodeon, I would be very surprised if they kept her show going.  I am waiting for all of the parents to rise against this.  What type of a role model is she for our little girls?  I think my heart aches the most for the simple fact that it appears she did not have anyone to turn to when she found out she was pregnant.  She told only her best friend, NOT her mother.  That in itself tells me something about the relationship or the lack there of, with her mother.  We are supposed to be there for our daughters and obviously she is not there for her girls.  I just makes me so sad for Jamie Lynn and Brittney.

When Matt and I got married years ago we were married in Louisiana in July, outside. I know how stupid does someone have to be, not to mention it was a renaissance wedding and let me tell you the clothes were so hot it was unbearable. My Mom had this Industrial Ceiling Fan under the porch and a giant boxed fan out in the yard. The fan in the yard kept throwing the breaker so everyone was huddled under the porch in between pictures just to say dry from all of the sweat. She just let me know that she just got a new fan for the yard for this summer. That is great and it is going to help us out this summer, wish we had it years ago.

I am so excited Christmas is one week away.  Matt’s family starts coming in from Hawaii on Friday with his parents arriving Saturday afternoon.  They have not seen Lani since July and she has gotten so much bigger since then, they are going to be so surprised.  I have been looking around for a table arrangement to make, as soon as I find one I will post it for you guys but if you have something you would like to share then please post it up here.

As everyone knows I am in the title business and when it was booming we had a lot of people flipping houses to make a quick buck, well so they thought under the bottom fell out of the market and a lot of people were stuck with houses they did not live and could not afford. I found out today a new trend that is starting, land flipping. There is South Carolina land for sale and land in most states that people are starting to flip. I guess I just never thought about jumping on the band wagon.

Tanya and I were talking about Christmas gifts and she told me something so strange. This girl is just crazy. I told her I could buy her an everyday hand bag and she said really I don’t think I could do that for you because that is so personal. Then she follows that up with do you need underwear? I just looked at her dumb founded thinking she was joking but she was very serious. She feels that she knows me well enough to pick me out underwear. Of all of the things in the world, panties!! She thought I was pushing it by suggested I get her a purse and she wants to buy me underwear. This girl is so strange, and then she tells me I could get her shoes. I could not pick out shoes for her or anyone for that matter. I can not even bring home shoes for my daughter. Tanya said she wants a pair of sexy boots; all I could do was shake my head.

Easy Word Press is having a Six Crazy Christmas Giveaway and I have my eye on the Marshmallow Shooter for my husband.  They play with air soft guns at work and how cool would he be if he busted out with this thing.  It shoots up to 30 feet but the bad thing is his enemies could just eat his ammo and then we would be in a bad situation.  :)  Take a moment and get your name in for the drawing.

Christmas is not the same without Same Auld Lang Syne.  It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Dan Forgelberg.  He has lost his long battle with prostate cancer.  Please enjoy the video and song. 

One of my favorite Johnny Depp movie moments is in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when they walk into the room with all of the squirrels shelling the nuts.  Then he tells the little girl not to touch that squirrels nuts just made me crack up so much and then to find out she was a bad nut was just too much.  Willy Wonka and Chocolate Factory is one of my all time favorite movies so to see Johnny Depp put his dark twist on it was just amazing.  Of course because I am old school I have to say that Platoon is a great movie but when they go through the village it was heartbreaking to know that they had to be faced with such trauma.  To see him as a translator in the middle of that chaos, showing the true mental anguish our soldiers when through was just heart breaking.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a funny take one an old classic but Platoon was a hard look at one of the darkest times in our history.  Now he lends his talent to another film with dark undertones as well.  I am very excited about this movie because not only does it have Johnny Depp in it but it is also a musical and it gives me and my oldest daughter a chance to get out and do something together.  Mark your calendars and visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site for trailers to the movie and vist Sweeney Todd on MySpace.

Work has been crazy with all of the foreclosures going on, especially in Florida. I am in the title business and at this time not too many people are buying houses so business is really at a snails pace. All of the higher ups had the budget meeting this week and we are already starting to hear rumors that they are going to be doing some business performance management. They let several people go last month and I heard through the grape vine that it was just the tip of the iceberg. I guess by reviewing the work flow they are hoping to find ways to cut cost even further.

Yes I was that brave, I went to the mall on my lunch break.  I had to miss going to the homeless cafe today because I am still getting my Christmas gifts together.  I can finally take Dad, Uncle Ron, and Michaela off of my list.  I am still waiting on Michaela’s gift from Santa to come in but other than that she is done, so are Serena and Lani.  I would tell you what I got them but they read this so that would spoil the fun of them being surprised.

My Mom and family in Louisiana received their packages yesterday and everyone so very happy with their gifts.  Mom said the LSU jacket I got my brother fit him perfect and he loved it.
