We just opened a new checking account. Well we are looking at it more like a savings account because we have no intensions of taking the money out of it. We just wanted a place to sock away some money that is not too easy for us to spend. You know out of sight out of mind. At least that is what we hope.
Our oldest daughter’s last day of school was today. She is already talking about moving in with “friends” and then in the next breath she says with tears in her eyes “Mom, I am so not ready to grow up”. We all need to spread our wings and until we do we do not realize how well we had it at Mommy and Daddy’s house. So I guess we will be shopping for some discount furniture some time in the future, but until she packs her stuff, loads it in the car and drives away I am not going to let myself believe that she is moving.
I walked into Lani’s room yesterday with her sitting on the floor pulling out all of the baby wipes from the container. She is so funny she just looked at me and said UH OH. Oh well I guess we all desire our moments of fun and that was hers. She is starting to talk a lot more so we are very happy about that.
We are going to start to fix the car up for Michaela. I talked to Don this weekend and he said he would help us figure out what auto parts we need to get it in great shape for Michaela. She wants to follow some family home to Pace after graduation so we need to make sure it is good to go. She is going to bring Serena back with her when she comes back home. Then we will all be together in time to go to Asia for 2 weeks.
One of the things we need to do for the trip is buy memory for all of the cameras. I am sure we are going to take so many pictures. Matt is going to bring his laptop so we can empty our cameras at night but I am sure we are all going to need at list 2 memory cards for our cameras and we all have a digital camera we are taking with us.
I had to fill out all of my paperwork for the new job the other day. You know, 401K, health insurance, life insurance, child insurance, dental, all that good stuff. I can not believe I have been there for almost 3 months. It is so crazy, and I stay so busy the time is just flying by. My days pass so fast that before you know it, it is time to pack up and go home and there is still so much to do.
Lani is learning the joy of reading, well you reading to her of course. She loves to sit in your lap while you read her books. Her favorite right now is, Red Train. Grandma sent it to her from Hawaii. It is just a simple book of different modes of transportation and each one has a color like, red train or green bus. Of course when she reads it all of them are cars. She is starting to say the colors when you tell her what they are.
