I really like to cook

I really like to cook and one of the things I wish I had done was gone to one of those culinary arts schools. I would love to be able to go to school and learn all of the neat things you can do with food. Matt tells me I should just do it but I don’t know. I have been looking around at them and found that no matter where you leave you can find a school close to you.

Maybe when we move out to California and I am looking for a career change I can try my hand at culinary arts school. I really like to cook and I love to try new recipes so think I would be great to broaden my knowledge. I don’t know if I would want to work in a restaurant or not but I think I would be awesome to be able to have the chance to. I always tell Matt that if we get rich one day and I do not have to worry about money I would like to work in a soup kitchen or something just volunteering. I guess I should just do what I want with what I have and not wait for the perfect conditions to come along because we all know if you wait for the perfect moment you will be waiting forever. Sometimes you just have to jump in and do it.

Great Explorations

We took Lani to Great Explorations this weekend, which is a children’s hands on museum in St. Pete. I would not call it is museum, I would say it was more like a hands on activity place. She loved it and so did we. Her favorite thing to do was slide down the fireman’s pole. It was really neat. They had different rooms with different “jobs”. You could be a fireman, a tv personality, a musician, a vet and many other things. She loved the fact that she could just run around without Mom and Dad telling her to come here. It is really set up as kid friendly and they are able to just be a kid. Also, great tree house for them to climb in.

Co-founder of Pink Floyd dies

Richard Wright, one of the co-founders of Pink Floyd passed away on Monday at age 65. After a long battle with cancer he passed away at his home in Britain. His last album Broken China was released in 1996, which was a solo venture.

Surfer Dude

The new Matthew McConaughey movie is called Surfer Dude filmed in Kauai. What a beautiful place to film a movie and catch a few waves. Jeff Healey dead at 41

Jeff Healey the blind artist who sang the wonderful song Angel Eyes has passed away at the age of 41 after a very long battle with cancer. Diagnosed with cancer at the age of 1 which claimed his site, Jeff was self taught on the guitar. Please enjoy the video, it is a beautiful song.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have twins

Last night just shortly after midnight Jennifer Lopez gave birth to their twins. The girl weighed 5 lbs 7 ozs and the boy weighed 6 pounds. No news yet on their names but I am sure it will not be long before we find out.

Heath Ledger dead at 28

Heath Ledgerwas found dead in his New York apartment last night. The 28 year old actor was in movies such as A Knight’s Tale, Brokeback Mountain and more recently the Batman movie The Dark Knight where he played the Joker due to be released later this year. Found next to the bed were prescription and non prescription sleep aids. It is reported that after the filming of Batman he was having trouble sleeping.

Our oldest daughter was very upset about this last night, one of her favorite movies is A Knight’s Tale.

Brad Renfro found dead in his home

Brad Renfro, made famous by the movie The Client, where he played a little boy that was witness to a crime, was found dead in his home on Tuesday. After his role in The Client Brad dealt with drug and alcohol problems. His friends say he was working hard to get his sobriety on track and was tired of paying the consequences of his actions. Brad Renfro was only 25 years old. The cause of his death is unknown at this time.

Brittney’s little sister is pregnant

Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant and 16 years old. I was so shocked although I guess I should not have been. I know these girls where born and raised in Louisiana but come on what happened to trying to break the stereotypes? I was raised in Louisiana too and when I graduated there were girls that were pregnant and girls that had already had babies but that was how many years ago? According to Jamie Lynn the father is her “long time” boyfriend. I have an issue with this too because I have a 17 year old and their idea of a long term boyfriend is making it to their 1 month anniversary.

Where is the mother of these girls? She has one child that is a walking disaster with two children she is losing custody of and now the other one is pregnant. As far as Jamie Lynn’s TV show on Nickelodeon, I would be very surprised if they kept her show going. I am waiting for all of the parents to rise against this. What type of a role model is she for our little girls? I think my heart aches the most for the simple fact that it appears she did not have anyone to turn to when she found out she was pregnant. She told only her best friend, NOT her mother. That in itself tells me something about the relationship or the lack there of, with her mother. We are supposed to be there for our daughters and obviously she is not there for her girls. I just makes me so sad for Jamie Lynn and Brittney.
