President Bush gave out the wrong number in his annoucment about the new Hope program to help those who are being affected by the adjustable rates on the mortgages they took out for their home.  The correct number is 1-888-995-HOPE   The number he gave out was to the Freedom Christian Academy in Texas. 

I have to say when this came into my e-mail box I almost just hit forward to everyone in my address book but then I stopped and decided to look it up on snopes.  I was glad I did.  I, like most of you, are touched my the thought of sending one more Christmas card out in the hopes it would reach someone who has given so much for us, an American solider.  I was saddened by the fact that this is simply not the case.  According to Snopes this “extra Christmas card” will be thrown away unopened. 

If you know of a program that we could send cards to and they would actually get to a solider please let me know and I will me more than happy to post it on the site and hopefully get everyone who reads it to send out a card.  During this time of the year our hearts are filling with generosity and sometimes we just do not know what to do with it.  Please share you ways of giving back during this time of the year.  Below please see the email that was forwarded to me.

We need to get more little girls interested in the field of science.  Math Tutors are a good way to do that.  You child does not have to be having trouble in school for them to go to a tutor.  Going to a tutor builds on the skills they are learning in school in a one on one setting.  Lani will be going to extra school instruction when she begins school.  We need to get them to enjoy learning when they are young so that it carries them through their high school years.

You may not think you need self defense products but that is what the criminals are counting on. Most people do not believe that they are going to be a victim of crime. Most think that if they are involved in a crime against them it will be a burglary of their home, that is why most of us have alarm systems in our homes. What about if you are a jogger or a walker? There are so many times we are alone and don’t even think about. We think we have done this a thousand times and nothing has ever happened. Routine, that is how you become a victim of crime. We can not changed our schedules everyday to come and go at different times. We have schedules to keep and places to be. I am not saying you need a stun gun or anything like that, but who knows maybe you do. I would recommend getting a personal mace to keep on your key chain or in the door of our car. Just being prepared puts you a step ahead of the criminals.

I don’t know about you guys but Halloween is just around the corner and I will not get paid until after all of the Halloween parties are over. That means, no costume for me, but there is hope. My husband and I went out to dinner with his boss and some new clients. It was a very nice restaurant you know, one that we would not normally go to with the children in toe. As Matt was peeling the crab I guess he did not realize a piece of the shell stayed on the meat before he put it into the butter dish. Matt put the meat in his mouth and bit down and the shell that was left on the meat snapped his crown right off. Instantly the whole table new something was wrong. Matt was in so much pain. We had to leave the dinner to get him home. He was so embarrassed. If we would have had Dentemp OS, he could have put the crown back on, stopping the pain and we could have continued having dinner with the clients in about an hour. Having the ability to do a temporary dental repair would have saved the dinner.
