Advents Corner

That is what’s wrong with me, I have H. Pylori.  My biopsy came back today and I spoke to my doctor and they have diagnosed me with H. Pylori.  Finally, after 2 months of stomach pain it has a name.  I got sick on our 3rd day in Bangkok on July 17th and my stomach has hurt everyday since then.  I was very happy to find out that all I have to do it take 2 antibiotics, twice a day for 2 weeks and I should feel better.

I had my first dose of the medications tonight and I seem to be OK.  I am a little nauseous and my head hurts but other than that I am doing OK.   I should be fine after taking the medicine so keep your fingers crossed.  All of the test they ran on me came back normal and I am sure they thought I was crazy but I kept bugging them util they did the right test.

I had a hida scan, a ct, ultrasound and a ton of blood test and they all showed nothing.  They decided to do an upper endoscopy and that was when they found that my stomach was completely messed up with chronic gastritis so they took several biopsies in different area that were irritated and they found it.

I am so excited Matt got me a eee PC for our anniversary and I got it in yesterday.  It is so cool.  I threw it in my bag this morning and took it to work with me today.  I played a couple of games on my lunch break.  I really like how small it is.  The keyboard of course is a little small but I will get use to it.  You have to press the keys a little harder than a regular one but I will get use to that over time too.  I have not figured out how to turn off the finger pad so my thumb hits it sometimes and sends my cursor flying.  It is perfect, however for my 2 year old daughter’s fingers.  It does not get that hot so I just keep it in my lap with no problems.

When you tilt the screen back it gets a little top heavy so you have to angle it right to get it to stay upright on your lap but when it is on a flat surface that is not an issue.  The start up time is fast but the power down is a little slow.  I have only had it for about 24 hours and I seem to be adapting very well.  All in all it is a very good buy for the price so I am very happy.

One of my co-workers is going to a wedding this weekend so she has been doing a quick weight loss diet because she bought a dress a little small because it was the only size but it was the perfect dress. She is doing great she is down 10 pounds and she is so excited about seeing all of her friends now that she is “skinny”. She is so funny because I did not think she needed to lose any weight but now that she has dropped those pounds she really looks nice.

My department moves to a new building on September 15th. I am really excited because we just had one of those commercial collection agencies move into our building and parking is getting so crazy. Beside I love moving to a new space because if feels like you are changing jobs without having to start all over again. Our new offices will have pods in them instead of cubes. So you will be in a pod with 3 other people with an island in the center of the room. You will have one person in each corner so I am very excited to see how that all works.

Our 10th anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks and I on a mission to find Matt something special. I can’t believe we have been together for 10 years and it seems like it was just yesterday. I was looking at getting him a Zero Halliburton briefcase. With all of Matt’s trips to LA coming up I want it to be as quick as possible for him to get through security and get out of the airport. She is suppose to start traveling the second week in September and be gone for 2 weeks at a time. It is going to be tough especially on the girls but I am sure we will make it through and maybe I will get to make a trip out to LA for the weekend or something.

We decided to open a second Checking Account so we can have one to hopefully save some money for Christmas and hopefully a trip to Hawaii this summer. We try to go every other summer and because we were in Asia this past summer it is time to go back to Hawaii. Matt’s family leaves there so when we go we do not have the expense of a hotel and things like that. I love Hawaii, it is the only place I have been where my soul feels happy and if you have never experienced that, I hope one time if your life you feel the joy of it.

Matt is going to start going back and forth to Los Angeles and we are not looking forward to that. His company is moving out there so we will make the move out there eventually but Matt is going to go out there 2 weeks at a time until we move out there permanently. We are going to get him a Garmin GPS so that he does not get lost until he learns the city. It should be fun and it is just one more adventure in our lives.

Now that we are in the countdown phase of the trip planning we are getting the cameras ready and making sure we have enough memory for all of the cameras because I know we are going to be taking so many pictures. I am going to try and download pictures every night so I do not have to worry about running out of room on my camera.

We just opened a new checking account. Well we are looking at it more like a savings account because we have no intensions of taking the money out of it. We just wanted a place to sock away some money that is not too easy for us to spend. You know out of sight out of mind. At least that is what we hope.

Our oldest daughter’s last day of school was today. She is already talking about moving in with “friends” and then in the next breath she says with tears in her eyes “Mom, I am so not ready to grow up”. We all need to spread our wings and until we do we do not realize how well we had it at Mommy and Daddy’s house. So I guess we will be shopping for some discount furniture some time in the future, but until she packs her stuff, loads it in the car and drives away I am not going to let myself believe that she is moving.

We are going to start to fix the car up for Michaela. I talked to Don this weekend and he said he would help us figure out what auto parts we need to get it in great shape for Michaela. She wants to follow some family home to Pace after graduation so we need to make sure it is good to go. She is going to bring Serena back with her when she comes back home. Then we will all be together in time to go to Asia for 2 weeks.

I had to fill out all of my paperwork for the new job the other day. You know, 401K, health insurance, life insurance, child insurance, dental, all that good stuff. I can not believe I have been there for almost 3 months. It is so crazy, and I stay so busy the time is just flying by. My days pass so fast that before you know it, it is time to pack up and go home and there is still so much to do.

Matt is working so much lately sometimes it seems like forever before I get to see him. Now that he is the operations and IT manager they look to him to take care of a lot problems. Even though he could get other people to handle it the president likes to know that Matt is there making sure everything is going well. The other they were having trouble with the patch panels so he did not get home until we were all in bed. I get up at 5 am so staying up late to wait on him is sometimes out of the question.

Matt’s parents are moving down (hopefully sooner than later) and Dad told Matt he would have to get some golf clubs and learn to golf so he can go with Dad and Don(Matt’s brother). I guess we will be shopping for Matt some Callaway irons before too long. Then we can go golfing with all the guys because he is the only one that does not golf, so we knew it was only a matter of time before “peer” pressure kicked in.

While Matt and I were out at Costco getting diapers and wipes for Lani we were looking at all of the new games for the Wii. We are wanting to get Guitar Hero III but they only had it for the Xbox and we really want it for the Wii instead. I love playing the when we have guests over because it gets everyone involved and talking and laughing. Besides it gets you off of the sofa unlike the other games out there you actually have to do the work when you play the game. Like bowling you can bet you arm is going to be sore the next day after a marathon bowling session with the family.

Michaela got a new job and she starts next week. We are hoping with the new job she once again learns the joy of savings accounts. She did really well the last time she had a job by putting money into her savings account every time she got paid. With her trying to save money to pay for her car insurance I think she will start socking away money in savings one again. She graduates from school in June so I know having a car will become very important to her.

Well I am still liking the new job but I do believe sometimes the agents that call are taking testosterone boosters because WOW!!!!! Sometimes they are really bold. We had someone in the office not doing their job so well and those of us that are left are paying the price, which can be very frustrating most of the time.

I am so sorry to all of those the keep tabs on the blog but since I started the new job I have been working 10 hour days and it takes me an hour to get there and an hour to get back so my commute time has doubled and I just don’t seem to have enough time for anything.  Most of all family.  I have been putting alot of things in the slow cooker to cut down on cooking in the evenings but still giving the family a good home cooked meal.  Most of all I miss the time with Lani.  I will try and keep up more on telling you guys what is going on, I promise.

One sad thing about working at the firm again is that I can not wear my slippas anymore to work. I had Michaela in my closet last night trying to pick out some shoes for me because I am lost now without my slippas. Maybe I should get me a pair of those Naot shoes, maybe I could get away with them. So while Michaela was looking in my closet to find shows, she found the ones I bought in Hawaii. On one of our stopping trips and they had these cute little mules on clearance so I bought a pair in every color. So today I wore the blue ones.

I has been a long time since I updated the site.  Alot has happened.  I have started a new job and I really like it.  I have been working alot which is a change and I get home later than before but I really like what I am doing.

I am back at the firm that I worked about for 4 years from 1999 to 2003.  It was my very first job when we moved to Florida.  In fact when we were going to move down here I set up some interviews and Matt and I drove down for me to go on the interviews.  It was my first scheduled interview and after I left out of it I told Matt that I really wanted that job.  I had another scheduled interview right away but I told Matt I wanted to go straight back to Mom and Dad’s and wait for the phone call.  A couple hours later they called and I accepted on the spot.

It is nice to be back.
