The news was just announced. Rio De Janeiro will host the 2016 Olympics. Too bad for Chicago. This will be the first time the Olympics will be held in South Africa. Rio’s theme for the Olympics is “Live Your Passion”.

I know you might think that I am promoting this site because I “know” the person that is writing it but I am promoting this site because he is bringing out very interesting points about Sarah Palin, valid points. Here is another article published today by Gray that just takes your breath away. Can you believe Sarah Palin made rape victims pay for their own rape kits? Is this who we want in our White House?
I wanted to pass along this post from another blog, Sarah Palin banning books. Take the time to look at it and then do your own research. We need as much information as we can gather on the eve of what could be a dog fight election. We are looking at more and more of our children turning voting age. This will be my oldest daughter’s first election, she turned 18 in July. With that in mind we could have one of the largest voter turn outs in a very long time. Everyone is on their soap box screaming for change but we need to make sure it is the change we really need and not just simply “change”.
The FAA is investigating the pilot and co-pilot of the Go! airline that were flying from Honolulu to Hilo. The pilots flew past the island and were unreachable by radio for a full 25 minutes. After heading 15 miles out to sea the plane was turned around and landed safely.
This is pretty scary. We took an interisland flight while we were there and believe me they are very short flights. You go up and you go down and it is over.I can not image not only the pilot but the co-pilot as well falling asleep during such a short flight.Thank God no one was hurt.
Roy Scheider died Sunday at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences hospital. He uttered that famous line in Jaws released in 1975. You may also remember him from such films as The French Connection and The Punisher. Born November 10 1932 he made his film debut in the horror The Curse of the Living Corpse in 1964 but gained recognition when he worked with Jane Fonda in Klute in 1971. Then in 1975 he appeared in Jaws as the chief of police. With Jaws becoming the first film to ever gross $100 million this is where most of us know him.
This morning there was a shooting at Louisiana Technical College in Baton Rouge. According to reports a woman shot two other women before turning the gun on herself inside one of the classrooms. No further details are known at this time.
After super Tuesday this is the way things stack up.It looks like McCain is the front runner. It is still a very close race between Clinton and Obama. My dream ticket would be to see Clinton and McCain. That will be very hard decision between the two but I think they are the two best candidates.Only time will tell.
Margaret Truman has passed away at the age of 83 after a short illness.Margaret Truman was the only child of former president Harry S. Truman. She was a mystery writer who penned books such as Murder at the Opera and non-fiction works which included Letters From Father: The Truman Family’s Personal Correspondence.Margaret was once quoted saying, “The only thing I ever missed about the White House was having a car and driver.”
I am sure she will be greatly missed.God bless her family.
I just pisses me off to no end that stupid people like this exist in the world. This idiot used a 100,000 volt stun gun on his 18 month old toddler. He used it to “make him tough” saying he wanted his son to be the toughest cage fighter there is. I just can not believe that people can do things like this to little babies. Lani is 18 months old and I breaks my heart when she falls down, I could not even image if I did something to cause her pain. This guy got a 4 year sentence but that is not enough. These “parents” think they can do what they want to their children because they see them as property not as human beings. I think he should be strung up everyday of his sentence and be zapped. Not with just a stun gun but with like you see on the action movies where they shock them with the cables hooked up to the batteries, let’s see how tough he gets.
What the hell is going on at Halloween? Have you looked at some of the costumes they are putting out for our little girls now? The French Maid, the Naughty Nurse? I don’t understand what is going on with this. I have a 17 year old and there is no way she would be wearing these costumes that they are gearing towards 10-12 year olds. What amazes me is that people have to wonder what is happening with our little girls of today? From the time they are 6 or so they are looking at people like Britney Spears or Lindsey Lohan. Oh yeah, those are role models, a bad mom and a druggie. What happened to little girls wanting to be nurses or princesses or teachers? I am so sad at the state of the world when society tells our little girls that it is ok to dress trashy and that is what is expected of them. Do you know who’s fault it is? Not the company that makes the costumes but the parent that buys them. The company only makes them because they sell. If someone was not out there buying them, we would not be having this conversation.
Our children grow up fast enough, don’t you want to do everything you can to let them hold on to their innocence for as long as possible? Do you think dressing them in French Maid outfit is doing that? I hope a lot of people read this and get mad because that is what we have to do, get mad. Nothing is going to change unless we force it. Fads come and go, I am hoping that this one will go away but unfortunately something tells me it will only get worse. For all of those parents that find this as disturbing as I do, stick to your guns and don’t give in. Your child will be better for it and thank you when she grows up to be a happy, productive part of society.
I wanted to share with everyone this every well written article by Craig Franklin, a journalist in Jena, Louisiana dispelling media myths about the Jena 6. As I have said before I am from Louisiana and I used to live in a little town called Olla just a few miles from Jena. While I believe prejudice still does run rampant in a lot of the southern states I also believe the media puts their own spin on events to sell papers and make the evening news. There are always two sides to every story and hopefully through research and perseverance you will find both sides.
